1. Introduction

HostGridPro™ is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information We Collect

Account data: Name, email, phone number, billing address.
Payment data: Transaction references and amounts. We do not store full card numbers — payments are processed by PCI-compliant gateways.
Usage data: IP addresses, server logs, bandwidth usage, support history.
Cookies: Session cookies for authentication only. No third-party tracking cookies without consent.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provision, maintain and support your services.
To send invoices and service notifications.
To investigate abuse or security incidents.
To comply with legal obligations under South African law.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with payment processors, domain registries as required for registrations, and law enforcement when legally required.

5. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on servers physically located in South Africa (Teraco JB1 and CPT1 datacenters). We use encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords and strict access controls.

6. Your POPIA Rights

Right to access your personal information.
Right to correct inaccurate information.
Right to request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements).
Right to object to processing for direct marketing.
Right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the duration of your account plus 5 years for legal compliance. Server logs are retained for 90 days.

9. TikTok Integration

HostGridPro™ uses the TikTok Content Posting API to publish promotional videos to connected TikTok accounts on behalf of authorised users.

Data collected via TikTok:

TikTok User ID (open_id): A unique identifier assigned by TikTok to the connected account, used only to authenticate API requests.
Display name & avatar: Fetched from TikTok to confirm the correct account is connected. Not stored long-term.
OAuth access token: A temporary token granted by TikTok, stored securely and used solely for video publishing.

Permissions requested: video.publish, video.upload, user.info.basic

How we use this data: Solely to authenticate the TikTok account and publish approved video content on behalf of the account holder. We do not analyse, sell, or share TikTok account data with any third party.

Data retention: Access tokens are retained only while the TikTok account remains connected. Disconnecting your TikTok account revokes our access and we delete the stored token within 30 days.

Third-party policy: Your use of TikTok is also subject to TikTok’s own Privacy Policy and Developer Data Compliance Policy.
